The South Korean boy group BTS is on hiatus, the development of the K-Pop industry is also considered to have experienced a decrease in speed, aka slowing down. The head of the HYBE label, Bang Si Hyuk recently conducted an interview with Billboard, discussing several topics, one of which was regarding BTS.

Quoting  KBIZoom, on April 24, 2023 (local time), an interview with the producer and chairman of the company that houses the boy group BTS was published by Billboard. In the interview, Bang Si Hyuk discussed various matters related to the K-Pop industry, its business model, and of course BTS.

In particular, Bang Si Hyuk was asked why K-Pop's growth has slowed down in the Southeast Asian market, and he replied, "The fact that BTS is currently inactive has had an impact." Bang Si Hyuk argues, that in a survey about K-Pop awareness, BTS has greater penetration in the global market than K-Pop itself.

He also mentioned that his company is conducting active research on this subject. Meanwhile, when asked if he could 'copy BTS' global success', Bang Si Hyuk emphasized that it is impossible for him to create artists like BTS again. Which means, there will never be another K-Pop group that is as successful as BTS globally. BTS is a unique group with all its advantages.

However, Bang Si Hyuk also mentioned the possibility that a K-Pop artist from HYBE could top the Billboard Hot 100, after Jimin with his song 'Like Crazy'. Bang Si Hyuk added,  “The experience of managing BTS and operating various labels gave us access to a strong network, infrastructure and experience.

With this, HYBE can repeat the great results with the help of talented artists." As we know, the BTS boy group deactivated their group activities because some members, such as Jin and JHope, were currently serving military service. Even so, BTS did not completely disappear from the surface of the media.

The other members like Jungkook and Suga have remained very active in entertaining their fans with solo activities. Many ARMY also claim to be faithful in waiting for the seven BTS members to get back together and the K-Pop world will not fade even though the boy group stops for a moment entertaining their fans.
