Jisoo successfully recorded the highest first-week album sales for a K-Pop female solo artist in history in just one day. Quoting from Soompi on Saturday April 1, 2023, according to data from Hanteo Chart, immediately after BLACKPINK's Jisoo debut single album titled 'ME' was released on March 31 2023, the album has successfully sold 876,249 copies in one day.
This is the highest week-end album sales for a solo female singer in South Korea. Jisoo is the only female solo singer who has successfully achieved these sales figures. Previously, the highest first-day album sales figure for a female solo singer was held by another BLACKPINK member, namely Lisa through the album 'LALISA' which sold 330,129 copies within one day of release in 2021.
Now this record was broken by Jisoo through the single album 'ME'. Jisoo even recorded the second highest first-day album sales figures for the K-Pop female artist category including the group. Following BLACKPINK in first place with their latest album 'BORN PINK' which was released in September 2022.
It didn't stop there, in just one day, 'ME' managed to break the record for the highest first-week album sales for a female solo artist in the history of Hanteo. Previously, Lisa held the highest first-week album sales through the album 'LALISA' which sold 736,221 copies in a week. Meanwhile, Jisoo is expected to soon win his first million seller title as a solo singer.
Previously, Jisoo recorded 950,000 copies of the single album 'ME' pre-orders in two weeks, and recorded 1.31 million pre-orders in just 3 weeks. The main song ' FLOWER ' from the single album 'ME' also managed to top the iTunes Top Song Chart worldwide by successfully occupying the first position in 60 countries at once, including the United States.
Meanwhile, the music video for the song 'FLOWER' managed to become a world trend and took first place, having managed to collect around 40 million views in 24 hours.
