The survival show program made by Mnet, Boys Planet, successfully closed their program by producing the boy group ZEROBASEONE. One of the participants who was also expected to debut in the ZEROBASEONE lineup, but didn't get the chance was PENTAGON's Hui.
Even though they failed to debut with ZEROBASEONE, Hui recently revealed that there was an opportunity to work with them as a producer. Quoting from Soompi on Tuesday May 23, 2023, Hui shared this in the interview session he conducted. When asked if he would work with ZEROBASEONE as a producer, Hui said he was ready to do so.
"I did a lot of missions with the ZEROBASEONE members when I was a participant in 'Boys Planet'. Even though we were just working on songs, rearranging melodies, or writing lyrics, the members said they wanted to come over to my studio sometime," explained Hui. The PENTAGON boy group leader added, "It would be fun to compose songs for them.
However, I also want to work with them through music. I think that would also be very fun." Hui further said that he saw the ZEROBASEONE members grow to maturity and seeing them now gave him a lot of motivation and enthusiasm. As the oldest member among the 'Boys Planet' contestants, Hui naturally became a mentor who provided a lot of mental support to the other contestants.
One participant named Kim Gyu Vin even mentioned Hui's name in his victory speech. "I might not have been able to finish this race if it weren't for Hui, he is a pillar that supports me," said Kim Gyu Vin. Responding to this, Hui said that he did not intend to be someone who patronizes or makes the participants depend on him.
Due to the experience he had as an idol and a producer, Hui naturally became their role model and a place to lean on. Hui added, he didn't want to say anything negative to the participants, and tried to be a good listener. When the participants were having emotional difficulties, they would come to her for advice. The fans can't wait for the collaboration between Hui PENTAGON and ZEROBASEONE.
