Announcement, EXO Comeback July 10th!

After being caught on camera traveling to the shooting location of a midweek variety show, EXO has come back with new news: they are ready to make a comeback! SM Entertainment confirmed the news and explained that EXO will be releasing a new album in July. This time it's not a special album or mini album.

EXO will be releasing their seventh full album next month. The release date has also been confirmed by management through their official statement. "EXO's seventh full-album will be released on July 10, 2023," said SM Entertainment. "Because this is an album that all members have prepared, promotional activities for this album will go according to plan," they continued.

SM Entertainment's statement regarding 'promotion will go according to plan' is still related to the contract problems of three EXO members (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin). On June 1, 2023, the three of them filed a contract cancellation request with the management. But in EXO-CBX's official statement, they will continue to prioritize EXO even though they are facing contract problems with SM. 

So it is hoped that EXO's comeback plan this time will not be disturbed by this problem. "We will soon release details about this album," concluded SM Entertainment. EXO's seventh album will be EXO's first release and comeback in an 8-member formation after the special album Don't Fight The Feeling in 2021. Unfortunately, Kai will not join the promotion process due to his military service.  

Meanwhile, there was no information from SM regarding Lay's involvement in this comeback project. Previously, Lay had announced that he was no longer under contract with SM Entertainment. However, management opened up the opportunity to collaborate with the Chinese member in the next project with EXO.

On the other hand, EXO-CBX's problems with SM Entertainment are also of concern. Through their attorneys, Chen-Baekhyun-Xiumin have reported SM to the Fair Trade Commission regarding injustice, transparency of payment issues, and contract issues which are said to be burdensome.
