Reported by KBIZoom, on Thursday May 19, 2022, a YouTube channel called "Detective Caracula" belonging to a Korean YouTuber uploaded a video claiming that the passenger who was reported to have been a passenger in Sae Ron's SUV at the scene of the incident was Kang Daniel. 

"At the time of the incident, an actor was in Sae Ron's car." According to the YouTuber, he confirmed the news with Sae Ron's agency and revealed, “ Kim Sae Ron was drinking at a friend's residence in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul, the day before the incident. She drank with three to four people, including the actor who was in his car and another friend.

" She also questioned the awkwardness that occurred in the incident, "Where will he go after drinking with a man until morning?" This rumor was also fueled by the YouTuber's use of selfies of Kim Sae Ron and Kang Daniel as thumbnail images indicating that Daniel was the mysterious passenger. 

However, the Gangnam Police Station police have given their official statement, "Passenger Kim Sae Ron is a woman in her 20s and not a celebrity." In response to the rumors circulating, Kang Daniel's representative clarified that the rumors were baseless accusations, "Kang Daniel is currently focusing on practicing for his new album. So there's no way he's drinking alcohol.

We are currently examining the content of the video.” Reportedly, after the results of Kim Sae Ron's blood test came out, the police will immediately conduct an examination of the passengers who are suspected of helping Sae Ron in the case of driving under the influence of alcohol. 

"Kim Sae Ron has admitted that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, but we will investigate this case further after the blood test results come out." It is known that the sanctions that will be imposed on suspects driving under the influence of alcohol depend on how much alcohol is found in their blood, these sanctions can be in the form of fines and imprisonment of up to 2 years and 6 months.
