Uhm Tae Woong has finally been confirmed to star in a new drama after a 7-year hiatus. Reporting from KBIZoom June 27, 2023, Ghost Studio as Uhm Tae Woong's agency revealed that the actor will return to acting through his latest drama entitled " I Kill You ". Previously, in 2016, Uhm Tae Wong was involved in a scandal. 

He was accused of sexually assaulting an employee at an entertainment company. However, finally Uhm Tae Woong was acquitted of these charges after the victim's claims were found to be false. However, he was still sent to the prosecution on charges of prostitution and was fined 1 million won.

Subsequently, in 2017, the younger sister of actress Uhm Jung Hwa tried to return to acting through the movie "Excavator", but the public still did not accept her appearance. Then in 2021, Uhm Tae Woong announced that he was starring in a film called "The Last Homework", but the film has not been released until now.

Some time ago, the drama "I Kill You", has confirmed the main cast, namely Jiyoung KARA and Gikwang HIGHLIGHT, while Uhm Tae Woong will be a mediating and problem-solving character in this drama. The drama "I Kill You" carries the action genre which tells of a former Taekwondo athlete named Sun Woo who comes from a poor family. 

He was forced to work part time to meet daily needs. One day, Sun Woo was appointed to be Ji Yeon's "substitute" because of their similar faces and appearances. Ji Yeon is the granddaughter of the conglomerate owner of the Beomhan Construction Company.

Sun Woo has to play the role of Ji Yeon in front of the public and the media, because the real Ji Yeon is currently the main suspect in a hit-and-run case. Uhm Tae Woong is a senior actor who has started his career since 1998. His name became known after he starred in the popular drama "Sassy Girl Chun Hyang" as Byun Hak Do.

Since then, he has starred in various Korean drama titles, including "The Lucifer", "The Great Queen Seondeok", "Dr. Champ", "Man From the Equator", "7 Grade Civil Servant", and many more. Meanwhile, "I Kill You" started filming on June 12 and is scheduled to air in the second half of this year.
