One Piece live action is confirmed to continue into the second season. This announcement was made directly by the writer, Eiichiro Oda, who uploaded it to Netflix's official social media on Friday September 15, 2023 early morning Indonesian time. 

Through uploading the video, the creator also expressed his gratitude and gratitude to the audience who have enjoyed One Piece live action since two weeks of its release at the end of last August. "How do you think about the live action One Piece Season 1? I spent a lot of time working on it with Netflix and Tomorrow Studios," said Oda via the Den Den Mushi snail.

"It seems that people all over the world have enjoyed the show, which makes the hard work of the production team pay off," he continued. "To anyone who has been a One Piece fan for years, and who has experienced One Piece for the first time, thank you very much," he said. "Two weeks after the release, I just received some amazing news. 

Netflix has decided to continue the show!" he exclaimed. Eiichora Oda also said that he and his team would need more time to work on the script for the second season, thus asking for understanding from the audience who can't wait for the continuation of the adventures of Luffy.

The news then closed with Oda drawing the character Tony Tony Chopper, a pirate doctor from the Hat Pirates group. The Japanese manga adaptation series succeeded in reaping praise from audiences and critics thanks to the storyline which was considered not to deviate too much from the original version. 

Eiichiro Oda also stepped in directly as executive producer with Steven Maeda and Matt Owens as showrunners. Oda revealed that he had ensured that the live action version of One Piece had been made as similar as possible to the original version.

"Fortunately, Netflix agreed that they would not release the series until I agreed that the series was satisfactory," said Eiichiro Oda, as reported by the New York Times on Tuesday August 30, 2023. "I read the script, give notes, and act like a watchdog to make sure the material is adapted properly," he said again.
