One of the young actors from South Korea who has starred in quite a lot of South Korean drama titles, Choi Hyun Wook, was caught smoking and throwing away cigarette butts carelessly. Some time ago, a netizen uploaded a video of Choi Hyun Wook who was seen in the Apgujeong Rodeo Seoul area. 

The actor was also seen holding the hand of a woman whose face was blurred. Choi Hyun Wook was seen smoking a cigarette in his other hand, then threw the cigarette butt onto the road where there was a parked car. This of course sparked criticism from netizens. In a video circulating, Choi Hyun Wook is seen smoking and throwing his butt carelessly on a public road. 

Quoted from the Instagram account upload @kdramanews.id, Choi Hyun Wook has expressed his apology for this case. Choi Hyun Wook officially apologized personally through his agency, Gold Medalist, on Thursday October 5, 2023. He shared a letter in his own handwriting expressing his regret. 

“First, I would like to express my apologies to the fans for causing disappointment. "Even though I have to be responsible at all times, I have disappointed many people with my reckless actions," said Choi Hyun Wook in his apology. He also apologized to the director of the drama he starred in and is currently showing, the writer, staff, fellow actors, and everyone who worked with him.

"I humbly accept the criticism and suggestions you give me, and I will reflect on myself and work hard to show a more mature side of myself in the future," Choi Hyun Wook further wrote. The agency that oversees Choi Hyun Wook also issued a statement regarding one of its artists.

“Recently, while engaging in a conversation with an acquaintance on the street, Choi Hyun Wook smoked and disposed of the cigarette improperly and committed other careless actions that might make other people uncomfortable. Choi Hyun Wook admitted his mistake and deeply reflected on his behavior. "We express our sincere apologies to all parties who were disappointed," said the Gold Medalist.
