Disney+ Hotstar has broadcast the first two episodes of the Korean drama Vigilante, Wednesday November 8, 2023. This action-thriller genre drama stole attention because it showed Nam Joo Hyuk's crazy actions, while living two opposite lives.
After the premiere of Vigilante, Korean drama fans were busy discussing Nam Joo Hyuk's appearance on Twitter. The 29-year-old actor is called a cogil, aka crazy guy, a term used by Gen-Z for guys who act oddly.
The Korean drama Vigilante will air with a total of 8 episodes, while Nam Joo Hyuk is undergoing military service. For your information, Nam Joo Hyuk is carrying out his term of service as a police officer, similar to his character in the Korean drama Vigilante.
Vigilante follows the story of a man named Kim Ji Yong (played by Nam Joo Hyuk) who lives two opposite lives. On weekdays, Kim Ji Yong is an honor student at the police academy. However, at the weekend, Kim Ji Yong transformed into a vigilante, aka someone who enforces the law by taking the law into his own hands.
Kim Ji Yong beats up criminals, who receive light sentences, and continues his crime spree on the streets. It's all based on Kim Ji Yong's childhood trauma, which saw his mother beaten to death by a thug, for no apparent reason.
The Korean drama Vigilante also features Yoo Ji Tae, who plays senior police officer Jo Heon. His character leads a special investigation team formed to hunt down the vigilante aka Kim Ji Yong. There is also Kim So Jin, who plays reporter Cho Mi Ryeo.
The character explores a mysterious figure who beats up criminals and wears a hoodie at night. He decided to address him as Vigilante in his live broadcast debut. Vigilante is the first action drama starring Nam Joo Hyuk since his debut.
Before filming, the actor underwent training in martial arts, boxing and judo to perfect his appearance. Nam Joo Hyuk fans can look forward to the broadcast of the Korean drama Vigilante, which airs exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar every Wednesday at 14.00 WIB.
