10 years have passed since The Heirs, now Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye are reunited in a Korean drama project entitled Doctor Slump. This Korean drama, which will air on JTBC and Netflix, is a romantic comedy about high school rivals who meet again as adults but in different situations.
Park Hyung Sik plays the character Yeo Jung Woo while Park Shin Hye plays the role of Nam Ha Neul. In high school they were always fighting and competing to be the best. When they had graduated and were working in a hospital, they suddenly met again.
The meeting felt different. Both Yeo Jung Woo and Nam Ha Neul are not doing well. They are trying to deal with adult problems which actually make the rivalry in the past fade and turn into closeness. Reunited with Park Shin Hye in a Korean drama project, Park Hyung Sik admitted that he was surprised.
According to him, Park Shin Hye has not changed since they last met on the set of The Heirs 10 years ago. "It felt like time stopped when I met him, I was really surprised. When I worked together again, I learned a lot from him and was very impressed.
I'm really happy to be able to work together again," said Park Hyung Sik in an interview quoted from Sports Kyunghyang on Friday January 12, 2024. In line with her co-star, Park Shin Hye also expressed the comfortable feeling of being able to meet old friends.
He admitted that the Doctor Slump project, which will air starting January 27, 2024, was more fun because Park Hyung Sik was there. Because they already know each other, many ideas emerge and can be displayed when they are in a scene together.
In the end, their collaboration was truly felt and visible in front of the camera. "I feel comfortable with him and it feels like we just met yesterday! I spend a lot of time having fun while filming. When ideas come up on location, we will discuss them to create a fun drama together," said Park Shin Hye.
