BTS' V will release a new digital single entitled 'FRI(END)S' on March 15 2024. This good news was shared by BIGHIT MUSIC, the agency that oversees BTS' V via social media on Sunday March 3, 2024. Based on the announcement shared, 'FRI(END)S' is an interesting and witty romantic love song released in the Pop Soul R&B genre .

Specially, this time the lyrics are written in English. In less than two weeks since its release, BIGHIT MUSIC plans to release several contents ranging from concept photos to teaser videos to tease fans. BTS' V, who is currently undergoing mandatory military service, has apparently prepared a digital single to treat the longing of his fans, ARMY.

According to South Korean media reports Yonhap News , the song 'FRI(END)S' was prepared by V before he enlisted in the military in December last year. This is V's first comeback as a soloist since the release of his first solo album Layover about six months ago. The owner of the real name Kim Taehyung made his solo debut on September 8, 2023.

V finally caught up with the other BTS members who had already made their solo debuts. The album entitled Layover is Taehyung's solo debut album which has 6 songs in it, namely 'Rainy Days', 'Love Me Again', 'Slow Dancing', 'For Us', and 'Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)'. The main song on the Layover V album is 'Slow Dancing' which is covered in the Pop R&B genre.

Different from BTS songs in general, V tries to release songs based on his interests. Pop R&B is one of the genres that V is interested in and is considered to best suit V's sound by fans. Meanwhile, BTS' V is currently carrying out state duties, mandatory military service, since December 11, 2023.

V is undergoing mandatory military training at the Nonsan Army Training Center, Chungnam with RM, leader of BTS. Until the latest news received by fans, BTS' V was successfully promoted to Private First Class on March 1, 2024. BTS' V is expected to be relieved of his duties in June 2025.
