NCT's Taeyong second mini album entitled ' TAP ', which was released on February 26, 2024, received praise and positive reviews from the well-known British music media, NME. Quoting from Naver on Monday March 4, 2024, NME released a review article for Taeyong's second mini album 'TAP' which was released on March 1, 2024 local time.

In an article entitled 'Taeyong Proves He's More Than Just Unique Through 'TAP', NME said that the idol born in 1995 was never afraid to explore his unique charm. In the ten years of his career, NME has seen Taeyong's original side not only through the release of solo songs, but also the songs he released with his group members.

Especially for the release of 'TAP', NME said Taeyong dared to break away from existing methods and show more different sides and styles. "The main song 'TAP' is a song that shows Taeyong's humorous side, with a light and cheerful atmosphere, making this song enjoyable to listen to," wrote NME. They added, “This latest album also presents a deeper side of Taeyong's abilities as a singer.

This is a good album, taking advantage of the charm of Taeyong's deep and husky vocal tone.” NME also praised Taeyong for always doing his best and expanding his limits. As in the song 'Loading 404' is one of the best examples of Taeyong's musical growth and ability as a solo singer. It is one of his best songs according to NME.

NME reviewed it in more depth, and said that Taeyong was not only able to convey the unique side of himself honestly. However, he also dared to express his inner concerns. “He has the ability to elicit empathy from his listeners. 'TAP' is a song that is able to understand a person's complicated emotions and bring out empathy in them.

"This is a masterclass of songs at its best," explained NME. Meanwhile, NCT's Taeyong second mini album 'TAP' consists of 6 songs including the main song with the same title. Taeyong directly participated in the song composition and wrote all the lyrics of the songs on the album himself.
