Unpleasant news comes from solo singer Kang Daniel , who is currently facing a case of embezzlement and fraud by the largest shareholder in his own entertainment agency, Konnect Entertainment. Quoting from Naver on Monday May 20, 2024, Kang Daniel is reported to have filed a lawsuit against the majority shareholder in his entertainment agency, Konnect Entertainment, with total losses reaching 14 billion won.
News media outlet YTN reported that today, Monday May 20, 2024, Kang Daniel has filed criminal charges against Mr. A to the Seoul Metropolitan City Police Station. According to media reports, Mr. A took advantage of his position as the largest shareholder in Konnect Entertainment to embezzle 14 billion won in company funds.
It doesn't stop there, Mr. A was also accused of using Kang Daniel's name and stealing the company's seal for his own purposes. Konnect Entertainment, is an entertainment agency that started with the concept of a one-person agency which was founded in 2019 by Kang Daniel, six months after he finished promotional activities with his former group Wanna One.
The idol also doubles as CEO and artist under Konnect Entertainment, has successfully run the agency for the last 5 years by producing professional music productions. Due to Kang Daniel's success as a solo singer, Konnect Entertainment is now starting to oversee other artists, including Yuju, a former member of the girl group GFRIEND who is also pursuing a career as a solo singer.
