Previously, in April, ADOR announced that Hyein would be taking a break from activities due to a microfracture she suffered during training. According to the agency, recently Hyein still felt pain in her legs during practice, making it impossible to participate in group activities in the future.
"We would like to sincerely thank the fans for always supporting and loving NewJeans and informing you about Hyein's health condition and her upcoming schedule," said ADOR in its official statement. They also shared that last month, Hyein visited the hospital after feeling pain in the top of her leg during training, and it turned out she had suffered a microfracture.
The agency also said that since then, Hyein has focused on treatment and recovery. Doctors and medical experts have advised him to minimize movements that may put pressure on the affected area. Due to the injury, Hyein will not take part in official promotional activities for Newjeans' latest single 'How Sweet', including music events and other appearances.
For other schedules or appearances outside of music events and stage performances, Hyein's participation will be adjusted based on advice from doctors and medical examinations. ADOR also asks for fans' understanding regarding conditions that are beyond their control at this time.
The agency will focus on supporting Hyein's recovery and ensuring that the idol will return to appear in front of fans in good health. Currently, NewJeans is preparing for their comeback with the single 'How Sweet' on May 24, 2024.
