The latest news comes from the popular boy group from South Korea, namely SEVENTEEN. Reported by  Allkpop on Tuesday May 28, 2024, boy group SEVENTEEN has celebrated their 9th debut anniversary. For the celebration, the group of 13 people meaningfully chose to contribute to a noble cause. 

The Korean Committee for UNESCO itself announced on the 28th that SEVENTEEN made a donation on their debut anniversary . The Korean Committee for UNESCO then explained that on the 26th, SEVENTEEN donated funds designated as the 'Global Environmental Education Fund'. 

The funds provided by the SEVENTEEN group are planned to be used for educational campaigns including expanding the #GoingTogether initiative and holding a UNESCO Forum, especially on the Future of Education. 

Regarding the donations they gave, SEVENTEEN themselves revealed that they were very happy to be able to participate in good activities to celebrate their debut anniversary. They also hope that the donations given will be useful. "Being able to participate in something so meaningful on our debut anniversary, which for us is as special as our own birthday, is rewarding and fulfilling." SEVENTEEN said. 

Meanwhile, since their debut in 2015, SEVENTEEN has been known as a group that continues to carry out various forms of philanthropic activities. They are also known for their noble activities especially focusing on children and teenagers on their debut anniversary. 

Since 2022, the boy group under Pledis Entertainment has also been actively involved in UNESCO's GoingTogether campaign. They have firmly demonstrated their consistency in contributing to the reconstruction of education in Malawi, Africa, and the construction of a learning center in East Timor.

Apart from that, SEVENTEEN also used the influence of their popularity by becoming global speakers at a major forum, namely, the '13th UNESCO Youth Forum' which was held at UNESCO headquarters in France last November. Meanwhile, boy group SEVENTEEN is also confirmed to appear next month at the Glastonbury Festival, which starts at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England.
