Kep1er officially released its final album 'Kep1going On' before disbanding . Kep1going On is their first and last full album. The album Kep1going On was officially released on June 3, 2024 at 18.00 KST or 16.00 WIB. The music video for the title song 'Shooting Star' was released via YouTube with a galaxy theme.
A dynamic song wrapped in rhythmic drums, an emotional synth line, and a beautifully flowing electric guitar. A sweet look is also displayed in the star-filled room. The scene of the members with the shadow of Kep1ian (name of the fandom) adds to the emotional atmosphere.
Different from the previous album, through this album, the members put more emphasis on emotions. "We wrote a lot of stories about our growth and tried to reflect Kep1er's story," said Mashiro in a showcase celebrating the release of the Kep1going On album. Reported by South Korean media OSEN on Monday June 3, 2024, Kep1er held the showcase at Yes24 Live Hall, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The nine members who attended the event shared the stories behind making the album. Meanwhile, the tracklist on the Kep1going On album consists of 10 songs, namely 'Last Carnival', 'Shooting Star', 'Curious', 'Flower, Flutter, Your Heart', 'Double Up!', 'PUSH BUTTON', 'Problem ', 'Dear Diary', 'Grand Prix (Cor Ver.)', and 'Straight Line (Cor Ver.)'.
The song 'Shooting Star' which is the title track describes Kep1ian like a shining star, who is always there with the members to continue moving forward together without anyone to be afraid of. Seo Young Eun said about this album, “Overall, this album was made together with all the members. Starting from song selection to reflection of opinions."
Through this comeback , Kim Dayeon and Mashiro took part in making the album, with Kim Dayeon participating in making the rap for the song 'Shooting Star' and Mashiro writing the lyrics for the song 'Curious'. Different from usual comebacks , this comeback is very meaningful, considering that Kep1going On is their last album before disbanding as a group consisting of 9 members.
Kep1er became the first Mnet project idol group to successfully renew their contract. Previously it was reported that they would end their contract in July, but it seems that Wake One Entertainment has succeeded in making an agreement.
However, Kang Ye Seo and Mashiro did not renew their contracts like the other members. The two will return to their agency, 143 Entertainment, starting in July. Next, Kep1er will continue their promotional activities with the formation of 7 members, Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Seo Youngeun.
