The latest Korean film titled ' Revolver ' has shared a teaser of Lim Ji Yeon's character ahead of its release in August 2024. Carrying the action- thriller genre, 'Revolver' tells the story of a police officer named Ha Soo Young (played by Jeon Do Yeon) who was framed and languished in prison for two years.
After being released, she intends to take revenge. Lim Ji Yeon plays Jung Yoon Sun, also known as Madam Jung of the nightclub involved in Ha Soo Young's corruption case, who is the only person who visits Ha Soo Young on the day she is released from prison.
When Ha Soo Young questions how Madam Jung knew her release date and who sent it, she simply gives Ha Soo Young a bottle of whiskey as a gift and then disappears without answering her questions. Lately, Madam Jung has been hanging around Ha Soo Young, and it is still unknown whether she is on Ha Soo Young's side or not.
In the film, Lim Ji Yeon forms an interesting dynamic and chemistry with Jeon Do Yeon, adding to the excitement of the storyline. "I was really impressed by the charm of (the character) Yoon Sun, who seemed like an explosion of energy in a quiet film. I wanted to try to convey Yoon Sun's lines in a fun and entertaining way," said Lim Ji Yeon as quoted by Soompi on July 3, 2024.
He added, “Although he looks simple, he is actually a complex and wise person. I wanted to perfectly portray the sense of friendship and ambiguous feelings he experiences while helping Soo Young.” Lim Ji Yeon also discussed her approach to her character's style of dress, opting for bright colors that contrast with Ha Soo Young's outfits.
"I try to combine unique items such as eye-catching accessories, high heels, and brightly colored knee-high socks," said Lim Ji Yeon. Lim Ji Yeon's acting and totality in playing her role also earned praise from director Oh Seung Wook who directed the film 'Revolver'.
“In her role as Yoon Sun, Lim Ji Yeon has brought out a side of herself that I haven’t seen in other works. When Yoon Sun’s true nature is revealed, it feels like her mask suddenly falls off,” said the director. Meanwhile, the film 'Revolver' will be released in Korean theaters on August 7, 2024.
