Ahead of its premiere, TV Chosun's latest Korean drama titled ' DNA Lover ' has revealed details of the character played by Lee Tae Hwan. Carrying the romantic comedy genre, 'DNA Lover' tells the story of a genetic scientist Han So Jin (played by Jung In Sun) who has failed many times in love. She is obsessed with finding her life partner through gene compatibility.
In this drama, Lee Tae Hwan plays Seo Kang Hoon, a handsome firefighter who always prioritizes So Jin and is willing to always be there for her. Preview photos released via Instagram @tvchosuninsta show Seo Kang Hoon's dedication and sense of responsibility as a firefighter, highlighting his strong masculinity and friendly nature.
In one photo, he is seen wearing a concerned expression as he checks on the rescuer's condition, and in another, he is helping an elderly man in need of assistance. Lee Tae Hwan also shared his initial impressions of the drama's unique storyline until he was finally interested in joining.
"These days, people often ask about blood types or MBTI to understand each other's personalities. When I first saw the title of the drama, the idea of finding compatibility through DNA intrigued me. Reading the script, I found it fresh and entertaining," said Lee Tae Hwan as quoted by Soompi on Tuesday July 23, 2024.
He also expressed his happiness because this is his first project after completing his military service in December 2023. "I was nervous and worried, but I chose this project after meeting a great director. I also felt it was a great opportunity to work with senior actors I have admired for a long time," he said.
On the other hand, the production team of 'DNA Lover' praised Lee Tae Hwan's character development. “Lee Tae Hwan’s amazing physique and his firm tone of voice make his role as the handsome firefighter Seo Kang Hoon shine even brighter,” said the production team.
