BTS's V and Jungkook are working with their agency BIGHIT MUSIC to take legal action against the YouTube channel Quitting Fandom Center or known as 'Sojang'. According to Star News on August 16, 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC, V, and Jungkook filed a lawsuit against A, the operator of Quitting Fandom Center, for 90 million won in damages in March 2024.

The Seoul Western District Court's 12th Civil Division, which accepted the case, plans to hold the first hearing on August 23, five months after the lawsuit was filed. Previously, BIGHIT MUSIC has continuously sued netizens and stated, "We regularly take legal action against those who write malicious posts containing defamation, insults, sexual harassment, false information, and malicious slander against BTS."

"We will continue to take firm action in civil and criminal cases so that bad actors can receive strong punishment, and as before, there will be no settlement or leniency in any case." Notably, in their statement last June, the agency directly mentioned Sojang, stating, “In 2022, we sued the Quitting Fandom Center channel for defamation and obstruction of business, and then received a decision to suspend the investigation.”

"However, we actively requested to continue the investigation by obtaining Quitting Fandom Center's personal information and providing it to the investigative authorities, and as a result, the investigation was continued." "In addition, we filed an additional civil lawsuit earlier this year to seek damages for defamation and other illegal acts by the de-fan camp, and the civil trial is imminent."

In addition, BIGHIT MUSIC emphasized, "In the previous lawsuit, many suspects were sent to the prosecution, and we are waiting for the results of criminal penalties for the suspects." "Although it will take time to punish the suspects, we will take strong legal action until the end."

Regarding this, V himself had seen some of the videos that were recently uploaded by the YouTuber via the fan community platform Weverse. And when a netizen uploaded a screenshot of the YouTuber's video on Weverse, V replied, "Oh? I'm going to sue. My money for snacks will run out. She even bothered my family and friends. Bye."

At that time, V said, "I only saw it briefly, but not just us, but all artists hate people like that. All fans and ARMY may or may not be monitoring it, but I will sue on behalf of those who were hurt and lost their courage." He then replied to another fan's comment telling him to ignore the malicious posts, "Oh, of course. I'm mentally stronger than you think (For example, Suga)."
