Samuel L. Jackson has officially joined the film titled The Beast and will play the character of the President of the United States. This title is inspired by the nickname of the presidential limousine known as The Beast by members of the Secret Service.
Adapting from Deadline on Friday August 30, 2024, Samuel L. Jackson will act alongside Joel Kinnaman and Guy Burnet. Burnet is confirmed to play the main antagonist who challenges Jackson's authority as President. Filming for The Beast is planned to begin on September 4 in the Canary Islands and Madrid.
James Madigan was tapped to direct The Beast after previously working as a second unit director on Jason Statham's The Meg. He also worked as a second unit director on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and the Apple TV+ series starring Jason Momoa.
The Beast's script was written by Umair Aleem, who was previously involved in two projects: Extraction, the 2015 film starring Bruce Willis, and Kate, the 2021 film starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson.
Alexis Garcia, Chase Vergari, Ibrahim Mohammed, Chris Bremble, Dru Davis, and Christian Juptner serve as executive producers alongside Matthew Cohen, Andrew Kottlier, and Jeremie Guiaraud. Not to be missed, Herbert L. Kloiber and James Copp of Night Train Media are also executive producers.
Umair Aleem himself also produces, along with Ben Ruffman of Unified Pictures. While Adrian Guerra of Orca 3 and Nostromo is involved as a co-producer. Samuel L. Jackson has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its first phase, starring in two projects last year, Secret Invasion and The Marvels.
He also appeared in Argylle, which unfortunately only grossed less than $100 million worldwide on a $200 million production budget. Meanwhile, Joel Kinnaman is known for his role as RoboCop in the film released in 2014. In addition, he also played the character Rick Flag Jr. in Suicide Squad (2016) and the reboot directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad, in 2021.
