BOYNEXTDOOR members have been criticized for their actions being considered unprofessional. When seen at Incheon International Airport, the six BOYNEXTDOOR members were seen showing off using iPhones and Airpods Max. Their contract with Samsung had just ended.
Previously, BOYNEXTDOOR became models for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Maison Margiela Edition. Jaehyun, Sungho, Riwoo, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak BOYNEXTDOOR even had a photoshoot with Vogue Korea to promote the Korean brand's cellphone.
Now BOYNEXTDOOR is getting criticism for appearing to show off Apple products that are Samsung's competitors. In particular, Korean netizens highlighted how some of its members immediately put Airpods Max around their necks before flying to Madrid, Spain.
On Friday October 11, 2024, the youngest member of the K-pop group BOYNEXTDOOR Woonhak also took out his iPhone to invite his members to take a photo together. Woonhak did this in front of a number of media crews and fansites who took pictures at Incheon International Airport.
In the fansite shots, BOYNEXTDOOR's Jaehyun is also seen smiling at the camera while holding up his iPhone. The actions of the BOYNEXTDOOR members immediately drew criticism from a number of Korean netizens. Given how Samsung previously showed support for BOYNEXTDOOR by sending a coffee truck for fans.
Not a few considered BOYNEXTDOOR personnel to be careless and childish. Others said the newcomer boyband showed "ungratefulness" and considered the collaboration to be because BOYNEXTDOOR is under the auspices of a large company, HYBE.
