Argentine police have released the cause of death of British musician Liam Payne on Wednesday October 16, 2024. The One Direction member died at the age of 31 after falling from his hotel room balcony. 

The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office in Buenos Aires said Liam Payne died of "multiple trauma" and "internal and external bleeding." Variety also reported that authorities found substances in Liam Payne's hotel room "that could later prove his previous use of alcohol and drugs." 

It refers to a call to 911 by the front desk manager of the hotel where the musician was staying.  They alleged Payne was "high on drugs and alcohol" and was causing damage in the hotel lobby. However, another employee then called for an ambulance shortly after a loud noise came from the direction of the poolside cafe's foyer. 

Employees then saw Liam Payne's body lying at 5 p.m. Liam Payne's body was immediately taken by the police for an autopsy . The investigation into the death of the singer of the song Strip That Down is still ongoing until now. Liam Payne is known as one of the members of the legendary boyband One Direction. 

He first appeared in public through The X Factor in 2010. Initially, Liam Payne registered for the talent show as a soloist, but he, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson were put together in one group and came out as third place in the show. 

One Direction were signed to "X Factor" judge Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment. The boyband became one of the highest-selling boy bands in history, selling 70 million records worldwide before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2016. 

Liam Payne began his solo career by signing a recording contract with Capitol Records UK and began releasing his music in 2017 through the single Strip That Down with Migos rapper Quavo. He then released his debut solo album, LP1, in December 2019. Before his death, Liam Payne had launched a new song titled Teardrops in March 2024.
