NewJeans' Hanni announced that she will comply with the summons to testify at the National Assembly regarding the bullying she experienced in the Kpop idol workplace some time ago. The testimony will later become audit material for the Environment and Labor Committee. Meanwhile, Hanni is scheduled to attend on October 25, 2024.

She is also one of 35 other people who were asked to attend. Hanni is not actually required to attend, but he confirmed that he will fulfill the invitation. "I've decided! I'm going to the National Assembly for the hearing! I'm going alone," Hanni said via a special fan platform, reported by the Korea JoongAng Daily on Thursday October 10, 2024.

"Don't worry. I'm doing this for myself, the members, and for Bunnies. I've decided to support Bunnies. I'm not afraid. I'll go." The musician also shared that she had thought long and hard before deciding to attend the call. Hanni even felt unsure about the outcome and only hoped that her decision would be a valuable learning opportunity.

In addition to Hanni, the new ADOR CEO, Kim Ju-young, was also summoned and required to appear as a witness. However, there has been no confirmation yet whether he will comply with the summons or not. Kim Ju-young is required to appear unless he can provide a valid reason for his absence, based on the Law on Testimony and Judgment before the National Assembly.

The second summons came about a month after NewJeans went live on YouTube demanding that HYBE reinstate Min Hee-jin as ADOR CEO. During the live broadcast on September 11, 2024, Hanni also shared an incident she experienced when a manager of a HYBE artist ordered the artist to "ignore" her greeting.

Hanni then reported the incident to Kim Ju-young, but according to Hanni, the CEO ignored her concerns. The National Assembly plans to ask Hanni for further information regarding bullying in the idol industry and the workplace, while Kim Ju-young will be questioned about her response to the bullying issue.
