Taylor Swift is said to have donated US$5 million for the recovery of the impact of the natural disaster in Florida. One of the states in the United States was previously reported to have been hit by Hurricane Helene in late September 2024 which killed 133 people. However, while recovering, Florida is also preparing to face Hurricane Milton which is heading towards the country.

"We are so grateful to Taylor Swift for her $5 million donation to Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts," Feeding America, a nonprofit organization that provides free meals to those in need, said on social media on Wednesday October 9, 2024 local time.

"This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and other necessities to those affected by this devastating storm," she added.  "Thank you, @taylorswift13, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and help communities in need after #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton," Feeding America tweeted via X (or Twitter).

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported that there were about 27 violent and dangerous tornadoes that hit Florida as Hurricane Milton struck on Wednesday October 9, 2024. The NWS had previously issued 125 tornado warnings for the Tampa Bay, Miami and Melbourne areas, the most in history, surpassing the record of 69 tornado warnings issued by Hurricane Irma on September 10, 2017.

Meanwhile, in St. Lucie County, the tornado caused an unknown number of fatalities. In Pinellas County, residents were evacuated due to nearly 2 feet of flooding after Hurricane Milton struck. "Hundreds of homes were also reported to have been completely destroyed by the tornadoes that struck the county.

And that was before Hurricane Milton actually arrived," a source said. Taylor Swift's donation comes after the musician was previously reported to be the richest female musician in the world by Forbes. She is also reported to be continuing her Eras Tour concert in Florida next week.
