The Early Journey of Starting a K-Pop Idol Life at YG Entertainment

Rosé, whose real name is Park Chae Young, was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia since she was 8 years old. At a young age, she successfully passed the YG Entertainment audition and became a trainee when she was 15 years old. Reflecting on her early trainee days at a young age, Rosé describes the time as incredibly isolating.

"The loneliness that I had to deal with that I didn't fully understand. It was so traumatic that it was shocking, but I persevered." Even though it was difficult and full of challenges, Rosé managed to debut in the girl group under YG Entertainment called BLACKPINK with Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa.

The Challenges of Being a K-Pop Idol Who is Required to be Perfect

K-Pop idols are indeed required to be perfect in the eyes of their fans. Apparently, the idol born in 1997 is also aware of this. "We are trained to present ourselves in a perfect way. Even when interacting with fans online, we are made to appear as perfect girls in everyone's eyes," said Rosé.

During the interview, Rosé became emotional when discussing the harassment female artists experience online . "I consider myself a strong person and I don't want to react emotionally. But when it happened, it made me feel really, really bad," he added. Through the hardships and experiences she went through, Rosé found that writing songs was her way of healing.

"I feel like writing songs is a blessing. I would bring a big problem into the process, and then I would start writing songs, and the problem would leave my heart," she added. BLACKPINK's Rosé is known to have just released an epic song in collaboration with Bruno Mars titled "APT" and another song, "Number One Girl".
