After a six-month hiatus, SHINee 's Key has made his public comeback through a schedule film for their latest mini-album, 'Atmos'. On May 11, 2026, SHINee released a video introducing their comeback schedule, in which Key appears as a weather announcer.

In the teaser, Key steals the show with his short blonde hair and striking silver nose accessory. Key's return after a long hiatus sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some fans welcomed him warmly, while others felt the timing was too soon.

Key previously halted his activities last December after being embroiled in a controversy involving a doctor suspected of performing illegal medical procedures. SM Entertainment explained that Key recognized the doctor after visiting a hospital in Gangnam-gu based on a friend's recommendation.

The agency stated, “He knew A as a doctor and was unaware that receiving treatment at home could be problematic.” SM Entertainment also confirmed that Key understood the seriousness of the issue and decided to step down from scheduled activities and ongoing programs.

Following the controversy, Key left several shows, including MBC's 'I Live Alone' and tvN's 'Amazing Saturday'.Now, Key is preparing to reunite with fans through SHINee's concert at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, which will take place from May 29 to 31, 2026.

SHINee will also release their sixth mini-album, 'Atmos', on June 1, 2026. With Key's comeback now officially underway, public attention is on how the public will respond to his comeback.
