SNSD's Yoona was a guest star on Hyoyeon's YouTube channel on December 25, 2024. On that occasion, the two idols touched on a moment where Yoona accidentally made SM Entertainment juniors feel uncomfortable.
Hyoyeon initially revealed that she always watches MBC Gayo Daejejeon because Yoona is the host. "The end of the year is coming soon. On the night of the 31st, I always watch MBC Gayo Daejejeon. It's because you're the host, and you do the countdown and stuff. It's really great," Hyoyeon praised.
Hyoyeon then discussed the moment when Yoona invited SM juniors to take a photo together. "Last year at MBC Gayo Daejejeon, didn't you and SM junior artists take a photo together? I watched the behind-the-scenes video, and it looked like you were the one who suggested it," Hyoyeon added.
Hyoyeon recalled that SM juniors really gathered to take a photo with Yoona. "When you suggested it, the manager said, 'If you ask for a photo together, who can say no?' I checked the photo, and everyone came to take it," she continued. Yoona confirmed Hyoyeon's statement because she was the most senior in the photo.
"When I saw the photo after taking it, I realized that I was actually the sunbae there," answered the "King the Land" drama star. Yoona continued, "They said things like, 'If sunbae suggests it, of course everyone will take a picture. Who wouldn't?' And I couldn't argue because it was true, I was the most senior."
When the photo was taken, all the juniors were already there waiting for Yoona's arrival. Hearing that, Hyoyeon said, "The juniors must have felt a little uncomfortable." Yoona confirmed it by saying, "I feel comfortable with them, but they might feel that way.
I think it's because we've never met before." After that, Hyoyeon expressed her pride towards SM juniors. "When I see the juniors in our agency, I can't stop smiling. They are so cute. They are so handsome that I feel proud," she praised.
However, Hyoyeon suddenly worried that she had said something wrong, “Wait, is it weird to say that I feel proud because they are so handsome?” Yoona laughed and replied, “Your true feelings just came out.” Yoona added, "Although, I've never met them in person, seeing them on TV so often makes them feel familiar, so I can't help but greet them happily, 'Hi!' when I see them."
