T.O.P recently revealed his feelings regarding the character Thanos that he played in the series " Squid Game 2 ". The Big Bang rapper admitted that he felt cringe because he had to do a rap scene just to attract the attention of women in one of the episodes.
TOP admitted that he has been a rapper in the South Korean and international music industry for quite some time. However, he has never rapped in front of a woman just to seek attention. Therefore, T.O.P laughed when he had to do the scene.
"I felt really weird," he said, recalling the rapping scene in front of Song Ji Woo's character Kang Mi Na . "I've been a rapper for over 20 years of my life. But I've never rapped in front of a woman just to get her attention. So, I almost lost my mind while filming this scene."
T.O.P also revealed his desire to create a rare and unprecedented character. He then revealed the process of forming his version of Thanos. "I wanted to design and create a unique and unprecedented character.
I used outdated and exaggerated movements to make the audience feel uncomfortable and unsure whether they would find him annoying or embarrassing. I wanted the audience to feel a strange aura from him," explained T.O.P.
"I talked to the director to find a way to make Thanos look weirder. So I tried to maximize his expressions. If you look at Thanos' dialogue, he uses a lot of phrases that are old-fashioned for his age. For example, 'You're lecturing me when you ended up in this shithole too?'
From that dialogue, you can conclude that Thanos the rapper is stuck in the past. He was active in the 2000s before his career fell apart." T.O.P also discussed the scene where Thanos kicked Gyeong Su's character in one of the scenes. He apologized and revealed that he had no intention of doing so.
"Gyeong Su, I'm sorry," T.O.P said. "I didn't mean to do it. When you look at his eyes, he was really sad when he called Gyeong Su. He asked why you left Gyeong Su. He forgot that he was the one who kicked Gyeong Su. I feel like Thanos has the intelligence level of a goldfish."
T.O.P also feels proud to be able to bring an iconic character like Thanos to life. "As I see more and more Thanos memes and clips every day, I feel so grateful and proud to have brought this character to life. I hope you guys are also looking forward to Season 3, which will be here soon," T.O.P said.
