Funeral preparations for the late Kim Sae Ron have reportedly begun after the actress was found dead at her home in Seoul on Sunday February 16, 2025, local time. Until now, there is still no definite information about the cause of Kim Sae Ron's death that has been conveyed directly by the police because the investigation process is still ongoing.
As reported by JTBC on Monday February 17, 2025, Kim Sae Ron's funeral itself is planned to be held on February 19, 2025 morning at Seoul Asan Medical Center. However, the memorial service will be held starting February 17, 2025.
Kim Sae Ron was previously reported to have died at her residence in Seongdong, Seoul, South Korea on Sunday February 16, 2025. The actress, born on July 31, 2000, died at the age of 24. Quoted from the police report as reported by YTN, the police received a call to immediately go to Kim Sae Ron's residence at five in the afternoon.
The first party who reported to the police was Kim Sae Ron's friend who came to the actress' house because he had made an appointment for the two of them. When the police arrived and they entered the house, Kim Sae Ron was found unconscious and suspected of having a heart attack.
Kim Sae Ron was then taken to the hospital, but her life could not be saved. The police themselves revealed that there were no signs of crime or attacks from outsiders at the scene when Kim Sae Ron was found dead. However, there is still no firm certainty from the police regarding the cause of death of Kim Sae Ron who breathed her last at the age of 24.
"To date, there has been no evidence of criminal activity, ranging from external signs of intrusion, that have been confirmed," police said on Sunday February 16, 2025. "However, the circumstances surrounding the death are still under investigation," the police added. "We are investigating the actual cause of death."
Kim Sae Ron has made her debut as a South Korean actress since she was a child, precisely at the age of nine. Since childhood, Kim Sae Ron has gained rapid popularity thanks to her appearances in a number of famous films, such as A Brand New Life in 2009 and The Man From Nowhere in 2010.
