ENHYPEN's Jake was a guest star on the YouTube program "BYOB Pocha" on January 10, 2025. On that occasion, the idol born in 2002 mentioned Indonesia as the country that he thought had the biggest impact on him.
The idol also admitted that Indonesian food is very delicious. The video shows host Brian asking, "As a global group traveling to all different countries, which country has left the biggest impact on you." Jake gives the wise answer that every country has its own uniqueness.
"Honestly, I love traveling, I love touring, I love touring the world, and I feel like every country has its own unique style and all the food is unique, all the people are different, so I love traveling," Jake answered. After that, Jake chose to discuss Indonesia.
"But in my mind, I think the last country I visited was Indonesia, I like Indonesian food, like fried rice," said Jake. Host Park Joon Hyung immediately got excited and agreed to reveal that Indonesian fried rice is indeed delicious. After that, Jake discussed that there are many Korean foods that can be found in Indonesia.
The idol also admitted that he really likes Indonesian-style buldak ramen. "But, what really surprised me was that there are so many Korean foods or Korean products like ramen and buldak," said Jake. Brian was quite surprised by Jake's statement.
"Do you have buldak ramen?" Brian asked. "I think they have the original, but they also have buldak carbonara. That's a flavor I really like," Jake replied. "That's a flavor I've never tried before. It'll be less spicy," Brian replied. Host Joon Hyung then asked how much Jake could tolerate spicy food.
"I can tolerate spicy food. I think I can tolerate spicy food better than you guys. Something like spicy food, I can eat," said Jake. However, the idol revealed that he doesn't like Cheongyang chili. After that, Jake shared his favorite Indonesian buldak recipe.
"They have something called carbonara buldak risotto. You know how carbonara buldak is really creamy and has like a special sauce, so if you add a little bit of milk to it, you get a really good creamy risotto. I can make that for you guys," Jake said.
The two hosts of "BYOB Pocha" looked surprised by Jake's offer. "I'm really good at cooking ramen," said Jake. Without waiting long, the idol immediately cooked Indonesian-style buldak ramen. Jake seemed to crush the noodles before cooking them.
"Put half a cup of rice, put 200ml of water and then you don't want to put too much water because you want to put a little bit of milk and the rest of the seasoning," Jake said. Jake's dish was finally done and both hosts seemed to really like it.
