EXO Kai's return from military service is awaited by many fans. He has completed his duties as a public service worker and was discharged on Monday February 10, 2025. To satisfy fans' longing after almost two years of 'disappearing', EXO Kai held a live broadcast "KAI: Happily Ever After."
When starting his live broadcast, Tuesday February 11, 2025, EXO's Kai admitted that he could not believe that he could finally greet fans again. The owner of the real name Kim Jongin really misses EXO-L. "Before I started (the live broadcast), I felt like it was all real but when I went down the stairs, my emotions overflowed.
I met you all after a year and 9 months. I missed you EXO-Ls so much," said EXO's Kai. The man whose real name is Kim Jongin read EXO-L's comments during the live broadcast and shared what he did while on duty. "I'm still the same. The same Kai that you know."
However, there is one change that he has noticed. EXO's Kai has switched to being an iced americano drinker, after previously joining the latte drinker team. "I can't start my day without it (ice americano) now. I wanted to stop drinking milk, that's why I started drinking iced americano and now I'm a drinker of it. Please remember."
EXO Kai officially started his duties as a public service worker on Thursday May 11, 2023. He finally felt the rest time on the weekend because as a public service officer, EXO Kai only works from Monday to Friday. Different from his job as a K-pop idol who has a busy schedule.
"Now I know. The happiness of resting on the weekend and the feeling of not wanting to work on Monday. Before during promotions, I couldn't feel it, but now I know how you feel. The sadness of Monday. Now I know it. I realize it now. I hate Mondays," said the 'Rover' singer.
Another breakthrough came from EXO's Kai after finishing the live broadcast. He uploaded a video of himself participating in the TikTok dance challenge of the song 'Igloo' by KISS OF LIFE which immediately reached millions of views.
Dubbed as a dancing machine, fans miss EXO Kai's dancing appearance. He also made a TikTok dance challenge for EXO's song, 'First Snow' which went viral during his military service. As a result, EXO's Kai is said to have memorized the trending dance challenge by EXO-L.
"So WOW that I can't say anything...... jellyfish catfish Kim Kai igloo challenge leee......" commented a fan on TikTok. "You're really being chased by deposits," said a fan. "Kai: open request for DC challenge, just list it, I'll average all the trends," said a fan.
"Even though it's late, thank you for joining the trend, Kai " wrote another EXO-L. EXO's Sehun is now the only member still undergoing military service. The youngest member of the K-pop group EXO will be discharged on September 20, 2025. After that, fans can look forward to a comeback in a full formation this year.
