Son Ye Jin is one of the Korean actresses whose acting is beyond doubt, most recently she received an offer to star in a Korean thriller drama entitled Variety (literal title). Interestingly, the Korean drama Variety is the work of Mask Girl director Kim Yoong Hon.
Quoting from Soompi page on Tuesday February 11, 2025, that on February 11, 2025, it was reported that Son Ye Jin had received an offer to star in the upcoming drama 'Variety' and is currently reviewing the offer.
In response to the reports, the actress's representative cautiously stated, "It is true that she received the offer, but she is still reviewing the script." A representative from CJ ENM, the drama’s production company, also shared, “We did offer the role to Son Ye Jin, but since the project is still in its early stages, nothing has been finalized.
Details such as the broadcast schedule and other casting decisions have not been determined yet.” Variety is a new thriller drama set in the idol industry and is the latest project from director Kim Yong Hoon, who is known for the Netflix series 'Mask Girl'.
The drama's production team is reportedly casting for the lead roles, with the story centering around an idol group that will be created specifically for the drama. Additionally, 'Squid Game 2' star and former IZ*ONE member Jo Yu Ri is also in talks for the lead role.
Son Ye Jin has reportedly been offered the role of a charismatic, intelligent, and outspoken character, a character who has drawn comparisons to former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. Meanwhile, Son Ye Jin is currently gearing up to film her upcoming Netflix series, 'Scandal' (working title), where she will star opposite Ji Chang Wook.
