BoA has made a major step forward in her career. She has decided to discontinue her contract with SM Entertainment, the agency that made her famous. Kwon Bo Ah debuted in 2000 under SM Entertainment. 

At the age of 13, BoA released the song " ID; Peace B" alongside her album of the same name. BoA then colored the Korean music industry with hit songs, such as Atlantis Princess, Girls On Top, Only One, and Every Heart: Minna no Kimochi. 

After 25 years with SM Entertainment, BoA has chosen to terminate her exclusive contract. The decision was made after lengthy discussions between both parties. 

" Our company has been in in-depth discussions with BoA over a long period of time and has agreed to end their 25-year journey together as of December 31 (2025) ," SM Entertainment said in a statement.

" Although our exclusive contract with our company has ended, we will continue to support BoA so she can fully demonstrate her abilities in various upcoming activities and new challenges, while continuing her increasingly shining path as an Asian Star. 

Please continue to give love and attention to BoA's future that will unfold ahead ," he continued. BoA also shared a farewell post on her personal Instagram account. She said she would support SM Entertainment even though they were no longer with her.

" As far as I have given sincerely, I will leave without hesitation. Thank you for the time we spent together, and we will continue to support the brilliant SM Entertainment ," wrote BoA. 

Fans also filled BoA's post with comments of support and thanks. " Good job for your hard work! My Boa, may you always be healthy and happy whenever and wherever you are. 

Jumping BoA will always be with you ," wrote @_bo***. " Unnie, you are still number 1 for me ," wrote @don***. " Thank you for everything legend! We will follow you wherever your steps take you ," wrote @u_ki***.
