Kim Soo-hyun will reportedly still attend a fan meeting in Taiwan that will be held at the end of March 2025. The decision was made despite the actor being caught up in a controversy over dating a minor. The Queen of Tears actor allegedly dated the late Kim Sae-ron in 2015, when he was 27 and she was 15. The relationship reportedly lasted for six years.

Taiwanese media ET News reported on Friday March 21, 2025 that Kim Soo-hyun will still attend the Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival held by 7-Eleven on March 30 and will be attended by 200 participants. According to the report, as quoted from News1, there are 50 police officers who will be guarding the event location.

However, the police said they were not there to guard Kim Soo-hyun. Police said 50 of their members were on duty to regulate traffic around the location, prevent any disputes or conflicts between drunk people, and would only intervene if there was any illegal activity or disturbance of order at the scene.

Until now, there has been no announcement of the cancellation of the event including confirmation that Kim Soo-hyun will attend the event. On the other hand, if he does not attend, Kim Soo-hyun is said to have to pay a fine of 30 million Taiwanese dollars to 7-Eleven.

Meanwhile, if Kim Soo-hyun attends the Taiwan fan meeting, it will be his first event since the controversy surrounding the late Kim Sae-ron. Previously, Kim Soo-hyun had terminated contracts and cooperation with various Korean brands due to the controversy that ensnared him.

The conflict began when the family of the late Kim Sae-ron accused 27-year-old Kim Soo-hyun of dating the actress when he was 15. The relationship lasted for about six years. Gold Medalist as an agency, in 2024, had denied rumors that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were dating.

However, after many selfies were released on the internet, the agency finally confirmed that the two artists had dated. However, they confirmed that Kim Soo-hyun dated when Kim Sae-ron had reached the legal age of 19, or in 2019, and the relationship ended in 2020.
