Yoo Yeon Seok reportedly received a tax fine after undergoing a tax investigation. His agency, Kingkong by Starship, gave a statement to the public to avoid any confusion. On Friday, March 14, 2025, it was reported that the National Tax Service conducted a tax audit on Yoo Yeon Seok and found additional tax charges of 7 billion won.

The findings were obtained after studying the tax on the establishment of Forever Entertainment, an agency founded by Yoo Yeon Seok. He is said to have challenged the tax ruling and filed an appeal. "This issue arose due to differences in interpretation and application of tax laws between our tax representatives and the tax authorities.

We are awaiting the final decision from the tax authorities after the review," Kingkong by Starship said on the same day. “This began when the National Tax Service classified the last five years of income from Yoo Yeon Seok’s YouTube content production as an extension of his entertainment career, as well as business and food ventures that were added as personal income tax instead of corporate tax,” they explained.

“This results in personal income tax being imposed on income that has already been reported as corporate tax,” he said. The agency emphasized that Yoo Yeon Seok is a tax-abiding figure so he ensures that he always fulfills his responsibilities as a citizen. “Yoo Yeon Seok has always prioritized fulfilling his tax obligations and will continue to comply with all laws and procedures as a responsible citizen,” he said.
