BLACKPINK's Rosé is said to have pocketed a profit of up to 13.3 billion won from streaming the song APT. since two weeks of the song's release. The collaborative project with Bruno Mars was first released on October 18, 2024.
This achievement was mentioned in the 265th episode of 20th Century Hit Song on KBS Joy, which aired on Friday May 16, 2025 local time. The Korea Times reported on Saturday May 17, 2025 that the event that night used the theme "Smells like money - astonishing hit songs" so they discussed songs that were huge commercial successes.
"Do you know what Rosé's "APT.", EXO's "Growl," and BTS's "Dynamite" have in common?" asked Mi-joo, the host. He then explained, "They were all huge hits that managed to rake in huge revenues. Rosé earned 13.3 billion won from streaming alone in just two weeks after releasing APT."
Mi-joo then went on to reveal that EXO also earned 10.5 billion won from physical album sales of Growl, while BTS's Dynamite managed to earn 200 billion won, which also shows the scale of K-pop's success on the global stage.
Super Junior's Heechul as another host then asked Mi-joo about what she would do if she got that much profit. “I will pretend I don’t have it and continue working hard,” Mi-joo replies. Overall, however, the top of the night's astonishing money-making list went to Roo'ra's 1995 release Angel Who Lost Wings.
