Kim Kardashian has officially graduated from her law program after a six-year journey. In an Instagram Story post on Wednesday May 21, 2025, the reality star celebrated her big achievement in a simple graduation ceremony in her backyard, surrounded by family and close friends.

"Finally graduated from law school after six years!!!" Kim wrote in a video as he wore a toga and stood on stage with a big smile. Kim enrolled in the Law Office Study Program, an alternative pathway recognized in California and three other U.S. states that allows someone to become a lawyer without having to attend formal law school.

Instead, participants apprentice under a licensed attorney. Kim began the program in 2018 at a law firm in San Francisco. Originally designed to be completed in four years, Kim took six years to complete the program due to the COVID-19 pandemic and his busy entertainment and business careers.

During those six years, Kim studied law 18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year, totaling more than 5,000 hours of study. Jessica Jackson, one of Kim's mentors, gave a passionate speech at Kim's private graduation ceremony.

"It is an incredible honor to stand here today, not only as a mentor, but as a witness to one of the most inspiring legal journeys we have ever seen," Jessica said. "Six years ago, Kim Kardashian began this journey with nothing but a determination to fight for justice.

No formal lectures, no law school amenities, just passion and a mountain of law books to read," Jessica said. Kim’s journey has not always been smooth. She failed the first exam for non-traditional law students three times in two years. However, he managed to pass on his fourth try in 2021.

Kim's graduation ceremony was warm and emotional. Her children joined her on stage to celebrate her special moment. Her sisters, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, were also in attendance and expressed their pride in Kim.

Kim first expressed her desire to become a lawyer in 2019, inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who was known as one of the lawyers in the O.J. Simpson case. Since then, she has been active in various criminal justice reform activities and has helped free several inmates from unjust sentences.

Now, after graduating from the law program and taking the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE), a prerequisite for taking the state bar exam, Kim is closer to her goal of becoming a licensed attorney.
