The mystery thriller drama titled 'Delusion' has revealed its release plan. The first episode and the excitement of the series adapted from the webtoon are scheduled to air in 2026. There is no set date yet, but many fans are looking forward to Kim Seon Ho and Bae Suzy's reunion on screen.
The two were recruited as the main characters after Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol stepped down. It is known that Kim Seon Ho and Bae Suzy previously made viewers unable to move on when they starred together in Start Up, a popular romance drama in 2022.
Han Ji Pyeong and Seo Dal Mi are caught in a complex and evolving relationship. But unfortunately, they don't end up in a romantic relationship because Dal Mi has finally been with Nam Do San (Nam Joo Hyuk).
Referring to Soompi, the announcement regarding Delusion was announced by Disney+ Korea at an open house event held at the Walt Disney Company Korea headquarters, Gangnam, Seoul. The production process of the series will be led by renowned director Han Jae Rim.
Some of his hit works include The King, The 8 Show, and Emergency Declaration. Seeing how good the chemistry is in Start Up, fans certainly have high expectations for Delusion. This seems to be a second chance for them to fix the failed romance in the previous title.
Adapted from a popular webtoon, the mystery thriller drama Delusion will highlight a suspenseful story that took place in 1935, precisely in Gyeongseong. Yun Iho, a painter played by Kim Seon Ho, is given the task of creating a portrait of Song Jeong Hwa.
The mission forces Iho to be trapped in a mysterious hotel and filled with fear and confusion. But coming face to face with Song Jeong Hwa rekindled his passion for true art. Then slowly, he found himself fascinated by Jeong Hwa.
Played by Bae Suzy, Song Jeong Hwa is the mysterious owner of Nammoon Hotel. She has not appeared in public for more than half a century and is shrouded in secrets. Despite her alluring beauty, there is a creepy charm in her.
As Yun Iho begins to reveal his mysterious secret, a suspenseful story begins to unfold. Kim Seon Ho and Bae Suzy's proven chemistry will add to the appeal of the drama Delusion. Moreover, the series carries a 19th-century setting that is predicted to present a rich historical nuance and a dark atmosphere full of intrigue.
This aspect is believed to make Delusion different from dramas in general. Reportedly, the production budget provided for this drama reached 45 billion KRW or around 33.75 million USD, making it the most expensive Korean drama.
Both Kim Seon Ho and Bae Suzy are currently returning to the small screen. Kim Seon Ho previously appeared as a cameo in the latest popular drama When Life Gives You Tangerines starring Park Bo Gum and IU.
Then the famous actor will also act with Go Youn Jung through the Netflix series entitled Can This Love Be Translated which is scheduled to air in the fourth quarter of 2025. Most recently, Bae Suzy appeared in the film Wonderland (2024). However, her last drama was Doona! which aired in 2023.
