Recently, the Korean entertainment world was again rocked by surprising news from Ju Haknyeon, a former member of The Boyz. His name was dragged into an alleged prostitution case after his meeting with former Japanese adult film actress, Asuka Kirara, at a private bar in Tokyo.

But now, Haknyeon can finally breathe a sigh of relief after being found not guilty of the charges. On July 2, 2025, the Gangnam Police Department in Seoul officially decided not to pursue the case because the evidence was deemed insufficient to prosecute.

Previously, on June 18, 2025, Haknyeon was reported to have met privately with Asuka Kirara. These accusations became even more widespread after an online article stated that the meeting was not just a casual chat, but also led to allegations of involvement in prostitution.

A few days later, an official report was filed with Korea's public complaint platform (National Sinmungo), asking the police to investigate the allegations further. However, after an investigation, the police stated that no clear evidence was found other than media reports.

This means that there is no strong enough legal basis to continue the investigation process. Haknyeon himself previously admitted that he was indeed at the location and met Asuka Kirara, but he firmly denied that the meeting was related to prostitution practices.

Unfortunately, this news comes at a very sensitive time. A few weeks earlier, One Hundred's agency had announced that Haknyeon would be taking a hiatus from group activities ue to personal reasons.

Even though the police have stated that Haknyeon is innocent, the decision to remove him from the group cannot be changed. The reason is to maintain The Boyz's image and avoid negative impacts from media coverage and public opinion that has already developed.

Even though the legal case has been resolved, the controversy still left a major impact on Ju Haknyeon's career. Now the public is waiting for the former idol's next steps, whether he will return to pursuing a career in the entertainment world, or choose a new path outside the industry.
