Kim Soo Hyun has sold one of his three units in the luxury apartment complex Galleria Foret. While the sale sparked speculation that it was a move to secure quick cash, sources report the sale had been planned since last year.
On Thursday July 3, 2025, Kim Soo Hyun sold his 1,840 sq. ft. (170.98㎡) Galleria Foret unit for 8 billion won. He originally purchased the property in 2014 for 3.02 billion won. According to reports, the sales contract was signed on June 27, 2025.
The timing led to rumors that he was offloading the property to raise funds after being hit with a major lawsuit from an advertiser seeking damages. However, Dispatch confirmed that the sale was not rushed. Kim had reportedly been planning to sell the apartment since last year and had already secured a buyer. The contract had simply been finalized recently.
Kim Soo Hyun still owns two other Galleria Foret units, both approximately 3,200 sq. ft., which he purchased in 2013 and 2024, respectively. The 2013 unit is currently under provisional seizure by Classys, a medical device company for which Kim serves as a brand ambassador.
Classys has filed a provisional seizure claim for 3 billion won. Cuckoo International Berhad—the Malaysian subsidiary of home appliance company Cuckoo—has also filed a separate provisional seizure claim on the same property for 100 million won.
Disputes intensified after YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. alleged that Kim Soo Hyun had been in a relationship with actress Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor. Kim Soo Hyun’s side has firmly denied the claim, stating that the relationship began only after she reached legal adulthood.
In response to the controversy and resulting lawsuits from advertisers, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team argues that the damage claims are baseless, as they stem from what they consider to be false allegations.
Kim Soo Hyun has since filed seven legal complaints against the YouTube channel and others, citing serious charges including blackmail, defamation, and stalking. However, reports indicate that the police investigation into Kim Soo Hyun’s complaints has stalled, and the investigative team assigned to the case was recently replaced.
