ASTRO's Sanha is set to star in a new historical film titled Suunjapbang (working title). In the drama, Sanha will act alongside other main actors such as Kim Kang Min and Baek Sung Hyun.
The film Suunjapbang tells the story of nobleman Kim Yu, a figure in the Joseon Dynasty who wrote the Suunjapbang recipe book. While taking the national civil service exam, Kim Yu meets Gye Am who is said to be the best chef in Joseon. Kim Yu's life changed after meeting Gye Am.
Kim Yu began to search for his purpose in life. ASTRO's Sanha will play the character Kim Yu while Gye Am will be played by Kim Kang Min. Baek Sung Hyun will appear as Kim Yeon, Kim Yu's older brother. Kim Yeon has a gentle and strong charisma and is known as a doting older brother.
Quoting Soompi, this is ASTRO Sanha's latest acting project after appearing in the dramas Your Playlist and Crazy Love. Meanwhile, Suunjapbang is a traditional recipe book passed down from the head of the Andong Gwangsan Kim clan as an heirloom.
Suunjapbang is also one of Korea's national treasures because it is the oldest Chinese manuscript in Korea containing 121 types of alcohol and food. The film Suunjapbang is planned to be released on December 16, 2025.
