Han So Hee and Choi Min Sik have been confirmed to have accepted roles in the remake of the Hollywood film, The Intern. The original film starred Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. The Korean Film Council announced that both actors have confirmed their offers and that pre-production is underway.
Filming is scheduled to begin in September 2025. "Han So Hee will be starring in the remake of The Intern," said 9Ato Entertainment, Han So Hee's agency. The film The Intern tells the story of a young CEO in his 30s who recruits an older man as an intern.
Despite his wealth of experience, he ends up becoming an intern at the company. Anne Hathaway's role will be played by Han So Hee, a CEO of an online fashion startup company that has achieved success in a year and a half. Choi Min Sik will play the role of an elderly intern who is starting his new life.
The Intern is Han So Hee's third big screen project after her debut with Heavy Snow in 2023. She is also currently preparing for the film Project Y with Jeon Jong Seo. Han So Hee is also currently on an Asian tour for her first fan meeting, including in Indonesia.
Choi Min Sik last acted in the film Exhuma which became the highest-grossing Korean film in 2024. He will play a role in the film No Other Choice which will be released this year. On the other hand, Min Sik is also preparing the series Notes from a Last Row which will be released next year.
