South Korean singer and actress, Bae Suzy was recently rumored to be engaged and soon to be married to a CEO of a beauty product company. This rumor was first spread by an anonymous netizen in an online community.
They claimed that Suzy's engagement had already taken place and that an official announcement would be made soon. Responding to this rumor, Kim Jang Kyun, as the president of the SOOP Management agency which manages Suzy, immediately spoke up.
Through his official Instagram post, he touched on scolding people who spread baseless rumors. " If you are caught spreading baseless rumors, you will be severely punished, " read the post uploaded on Friday August 29, 2025.
Not only the leader, the agency also officially stated that it would take firm action against people who spread baseless rumors about its artists. "Recently, rumors, speculative rumors, malicious posts, derogatory comments, etc. have been confirmed regarding the artist.
This is an act that seriously demeans the artist's honor, and we will take strong legal action without consent or election. We will strictly crack down on all illegal acts in the future and will do our best to protect the rights of affiliated artists," the agency wrote.
Meanwhile, Suzy will greet fans through the latest Korean drama project entitled Genie, Make A Wish. This drama, which features themes of fantasy, romance, and comedy, tells the story of a genie meeting an ordinary woman.
The genie must fulfill the woman's three wishes. Focusing on Genie (Kim Woo Bin), a genie who has been in a magic lamp for a thousand years is suddenly awakened by a woman who finds him.
The woman's name is Ga Yeong (Suzy). She unexpectedly finds a magic lamp where a Genie has been 'sleeping' for thousands of years. The awakened Genie must fulfill Ga Yeong's three wishes. The drama will premiere exclusively on Netflix on October 3, 2025.
