BTS's RM Reveals Why He Wears a $8,400 Ring Given to Him by Jin on His Ring Finger

BTS's RM showed off a diamond ring gift from Jin on his birthday. Unexpectedly, many netizens misread the image because RM was wearing it on his ring finger, leading to the need for clarification. 

BTS's leader, RM, celebrated his 31st birthday on Friday September 12, 2025. As a surprise for his bandmate, BTS's Jin gave him a special gift: a diamond ring from French jewelry brand FRED, which has appointed him as a global ambassador. 

The diamond ring Jin gave to RM is a whopping $8,400. RM showed off the 18K Force 10 Ring on his Instagram Story with a caption expressing his emotion. "Jin hyung gave me a ring as a gift" wrote BTS's RM, with a crying emoticon. 

In the shared photo, BTS' Jin and BTS' RM both wear FRED jewelry collection. While BTS' RM wears a ring, BTS' Jin's arm is adorned with a Force 10 Bracelet 18K rose gold diamond bracelet and a Chance Infinite Bracelet 18K each worth $32,800 and $27,700, respectively.

After sharing the post, BTS's RM greeted fans who were wishing him a happy birthday. However, mid-conversation, he suddenly clarified his stance after many questioned why he was wearing a diamond ring from BTS's Jin on his ring finger, seemingly putting to rest fan speculation.

The "Wild Flower" singer explained that the ring was too small and wouldn't fit on any other finger. Jin also asked BTS's RM if the ring really only fit his ring finger, as he had initially expected his bandmate to wear it on his middle finger.

"Jin hyung gave me this ring but the reason why I wear it on my ring finger is because it doesn't fit on my other fingers. Jin hyung keeps asking if it fits on my other fingers. But it doesn't fit on my other fingers, I'll show you," said RM. 

"Jin hyung wanted me to wear it on this finger (middle finger) but it didn't fit. So I had no other choice but to wear it on my ring finger," he added. RM's clarification sparked a wave of joking comments from netizens on Korean community forums. 

Some netizens offered their blessings for RM's marriage. Others were stunned by the lavish diamond ring gift from Jin. "Ah so funny ''The reason makes it funnier" commented a netizen on a Korean community forum.
