SEVENTEEN's Hoshi officially began his mandatory military service on Tuesday September 16, 2025. He has entered the recruit training center where he will undergo basic training before resuming his duties as an active soldier.

The night before his military service, Hoshi held a live broadcast on Weverse to say goodbye to his fans or Carats. "As you know, I'm enlisting tomorrow. I'll do my job well and return healthy," Hoshi said.

In addition, Hoshi asked fans not to worry about him and Woozi who will both undergo training at the Nonsan Training Center. "Don't worry about us. We'll be fine," added the owner of the name Kwon Soon Young.

Hoshi also revealed that the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday will affect his basic training period. Typically, training lasts five weeks. However, due to a conflict with the Chuseok holiday, it will last seven weeks. Hoshi, while showing off his freshly shaved head, also saluted fans and made a sweet promise.

"I'll be back after doing my best. I hope you stay healthy," Hoshi explained. His close friends, including Lee Soo Hyuk and Lee Dong Hwi, sent words of encouragement through social media, which Hoshi gratefully shared.

At SEVENTEEN's concert held last weekend, fellow members Jeonghan, Woozi, and Wonwoo, who had previously enlisted in the military, were also present in the audience to provide support. Hoshi is the fourth SEVENTEEN member to enlist in the military after Jeonghan, Wonwoo, and Woozi.
