Lack of sleep due to busy schedules is common among celebrities, including South Korean actress Suzy. However, her sleep habits are considered alarming. In the latest episode of the variety show 'Pinggyego' hosted by presenter Yoo Jae Suk, Suzy appeared with Kim Woo Bin, her co-star in the Korean drama 'Genie, Make a Wish'.
When discussing his daily routine, Kim Woo Bin admitted that he is not the type of person who wakes up early, but still makes sure to get enough sleep to stay fit. "On my days off, I usually go to bed around 1 a.m. and wake up around 11:30 p.m. If it's any later than that, I really can't function properly," said Kim Woo Bin, as quoted by Koreaboo.
"But Suzy really didn't get enough sleep," he added. Suzy immediately responded by admitting that she does indeed sleep very little. The former Miss A member said she only sleeps about four hours a night. "I'm not a long sleeper. I usually only get about four hours of sleep.
Today, for example, I went to bed at 2 or 3 a.m. and woke up at 5 a.m.," he said. The 30-year-old woman added that sleeping too long actually makes her body more tired. "I actually like to take naps, but because of work, I rarely get to. And even if I do, it's usually not even an hour.
Oddly enough, if I sleep too much, I actually get more tired," he explained. This habit has raised concerns among netizens, given that lack of sleep can impact health. According to several health journals, the ideal sleep requirement for adults is 7-9 hours per night. If the body consistently lacks rest, risks can arise.
Some of these include decreased immunity, impaired concentration, mood swings, and an increased risk of chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart problems. Even though she seems to be able to carry out normal activities, the habit of sleeping only 4 hours a day like Suzy's is clearly not a healthy pattern for the long term.
