A Chinese woman in her 30s who was arrested for trying to break into the home of BTS’s Jungkook on the day he was discharged from the military has received a suspension of indictment, meaning she will not face a trial.

The Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office announced the decision on October 22, 2025. The woman was accused of attempted breaking and entering after she was caught repeatedly trying to guess the passcode to Jungkook’s apartment on the night of his military discharge, on June 11, 2025.

While prosecutors acknowledged the crime occurred, they chose not to proceed with a trial. The decision was based on the fact that the crime was only an “attempt” and that the woman had since returned to her home country.

This is just one of two recent stalking incidents involving the star. A separate case against a Korean woman who was arrested in August for trespassing in his home parking lot was forwarded to the prosecution on October 14, 2025.

The incidents have cast a shadow over a celebratory period for the group. Jungkook and fellow member Jimin were discharged from their mandatory military service on October 11, 2025. Their bandmates Jin, J-Hope, Suga, RM and V had all completed their service in the preceding months.
