BTS's Jungkook has been named Chanel Beauty's newest global ambassador. His appearance has sparked debate among Korean netizens due to the tattoos covering his arms.

In a photo released by the Chanel Beauty Instagram account on Thursday (December 11, 2025), BTS's Jungkook appears in a black sweater. His style is casual, with the sleeves rolled up, revealing the tattoos on his arms.

There's the BTS logo tattoo, the "Rather be Dead than Cool" and "Make Hay While the Sun Shines" tattoos, and even a skeleton hand tattoo. BTS's Jungkook is known for his artsy personality and love of drawing.

So it's no surprise that he expresses himself through his tattoos. However, some Korean netizens still consider tattoos taboo. The youngest member of K-Pop group BTS is considered "inappropriate" for Chanel's image, representing its fragrance and beauty lines.

They believe the Chanel Beauty representative should "cover up his tattoos" in campaign photos. Meanwhile, Korean netizens have enthusiastically welcomed the collaboration between BTS' Jungkook and Chanel Beauty.

He is the first male K-pop idol to hold this prestigious status. Chanel Beauty previously chose NewJeans' Minji and aespa's Karina as brand ambassadors. "Chanel is proud to announce Jung Kook as a global ambassador for its fragrance and beauty line.

His bold and innovative spirit aligns with the values that Chanel Beauty upholds," said a brand representative, as reported by allkpop. Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Chanel's creative executive, is "honored to welcome Jungkook" as he "inspires a new generation."

ARMY (as BTS fans are known) can look forward to their next collaboration. The Standing Next to You singer added, "As a musician who strives to maintain his own color while facing new challenges, this collaboration with Chanel feels very meaningful."

This happy news was announced amidst the controversy surrounding dating rumors involving BTS's Jungkook and aespa's Winter. To date, BIGHIT MUSIC has not released a statement confirming or taking legal action against those spreading the rumors.
