Gong Myung is taking a brief break from his upcoming drama after being hospitalized for sudden hearing loss. Industry sources confirmed that the actor was admitted to the hospital on December 30, 2025, and the production of the new tvN series 'Secret Gratitude' to take a break from filming for the day.
Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss is a condition where a person experiences a rapid decline in hearing, usually in one ear, over a few days without an obvious cause. It often involves issues with the auditory nerve.
“It is a chronic condition for him,” an industry insider explained. “Gong Myung complained of dizziness, which led to the break in filming. We expect production to resume on the 2nd of next month.” His agency, Saram Entertainment, issued a brief statement confirming the situation.
“Gong Myung is currently receiving treatment and recovering,” the agency said. “He will return to the filming set sometime this week.” Gong Myung has been working nonstop since his military discharge in June 2023.
He recently starred in the TVING series Way Back Love and Netflix’s Love Untangled. His current project is a romantic comedy set to air in the first half of 2026. He plays Noh Ki Joon, an ace auditor who gets demoted, starring alongside Shin Hye Sun.
Even after this short break, his schedule remains packed. He is slated to begin filming the MBC drama Your Ground (literal translation), and his Netflix series Husbands (literal translation) is also set for release next year.
