Baekho officially began his military service as an active soldier on Monday December 29, 2025. He will enter the Army Training Center in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do Province, to undergo basic military training before serving as an active soldier.

According to an official statement from his agency, TEAM BAEKHO, there will be no special official events on his enlistment day. They also asked fans to refrain from visiting the enlistment location to avoid disrupting the process, which involves many soldiers and their families.

"We ask fans to send their support through Weverse. Until Baekho returns healthy after completing his national service, we ask that fans continue to provide their warm encouragement and continued love," the agency said.

Baekho, who was born on July 21, 1995 and is now 30 years old, debuted in 2012 as a member of NU'EST. Although the group disbanded in 2022, Baekho gained immense popularity through his appearance on the Mnet survival show Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017.

At that time, he did not make the final debut lineup, but the program helped him and NU'EST (including the subunit NU'EST W) gain a large fan base. After disbanding, Baekho pursued a solo career. He achieved success with his remake of Park Jin Young's hit song, "Elevator," which received rave reviews.

Last year, he appeared in the stage musical Marie Antoinette, and this year he appeared in Channel A's variety show Travel Instead of Me and the new program Health Farmer. Despite his busy schedule, Baekho continued his activities until his final day before enlisting.

This morning, he appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U's Good Morning FM with Taei. There, Baekho said, "It's truly an honor to be able to meet (listeners) even on a day like this. I said I wanted to fill my schedule completely before leaving, and it really is. I want to come back quickly and have fun with my activities."
